Bureaucracy making me anxious
But while i wait, there is time-a-plenty for some intrusive thoughts. Come on in, the door is wide open...

Ever since I launched the website and the Instagram account and registered the business, things have felt a bit rough. Everything is still. I don’t feel like I’m making progress, and I’ve definitely started doubting myself. Right before bed, I randomly found a Reddit post. A guy was asking if people make any money selling prints, and the overwhelming majority said no.
Now, I don’t pretend I’m going to live mainly off selling my work. I just want to do it because I like it. I want some of my pictures to live physically out in the world. Eventually, maybe I can build on it. For me, it’s not just the pictures. It’s the pictures and the writing. I just haven’t figured out the right way to pair the two into one package. I kind of wanted to try the Coco Capitán thing, genuinely, not just to copy her, but apparently it’s cliché. But who fucking cares if that's what is coming through naturally? So I don’t know. Maybe that’s the end state, although I have very shitty handwriting.
I guess now I’m waiting until I get my VAT number so I can turn on the shop. I’m following random people right now, and some follow me back. Sometimes they’re familiar faces, which is nerve-racking. But that happens with everything. I tried to build in secret, but eventually the algorithms push the secret thing to family and friends. It’s kind of a good push into the deep end.
So thank you to everyone who has just followed and is watching me overcome my own limitations. I do care about the outcome. Obviously I care. But I shouldn’t care if I sell. I don’t want to be bummed if I sell one photo a year. I just want to have this space. Enjoy the process. Enjoy doing it, building it, seeing where it goes, and trying not to get caught up in the financials. LFG!!!
